Hub Labels believes being involved in our community and showing support in any way we can. Every month a different department within Hub Labels sponsors a community event of their choosing.
OCTOBER 2016 – Sales/Marketing Team
The Sales/Marketing team held a company wide bake sale in October, to raise money for San Mar Children’s Home Sponsor a Child Christmas Project. Over $300 was collected and will be used to purchase gifts for a child in need this Christmas.
SEPTEMBER 2016 – Shipping Team
The Shipping team is running a toy drive for Toys for Tots. We are still collecting gifts until Christmas.
AUGUST 2016 – Gallus 1st Shift Team
The Gallus 1st Shift Team participated in a Back to School Backpack Drive benefiting Bester Community of Hope. Over 30 backpacks were collected and donated to Bester Community of Hope to help benefit students in our community.
JULY 2016 – Rewind Team
The Rewind Team did something different for their community event, they hosted the first ever Hub Car Wash! The car wash benefited The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland. The team washed over 15 cars and raised $276.
JUNE 2016 – Customer Service Team
In June the Customer Service department hosted a bake sale and lunch sale, with the proceeds going toward the Labor of Love Fund. Labor of Love is a support group for anyone who has experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn loss. The Customer Service department raised $461.05 to benefit Labor of Love.
MAY 2016 – Shop Support Team
The community event for May was hosted by the Accounting Team. They held a Color My Canvas event at Hub Labels supporting the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in these projects; Haircut Fund, Transportation – Pan Tran Tickets Fund & Community Based Clinics Fund. The event raised $270 and was given directly to the Martinsburg VA Medical Center.
APRIL 2016 – Shop Support Team
The community event for April was hosted by the 2nd & 3rd Shift Gallus Press Operators. Their event supported The Humane Society of Washington County. The team did a donation drive where employees could donate pet items such as; blankets, food, toys etc. In addition, they also did a 50/50 raffle. In total, $165 was raised, plus donated items, which was given directly to The Humane Society.
MARCH 2016 – Aquaflex Team
The community event for March was hosted by the Aquaflex Press Operators. Their event supported The Community Free Clinic. The team did a shoe drive where employees donated new or gently worn shoes; sneakers, heels, boots, sandals, kid’s shoes etc. Shoes were collected over a few months and over 60 pairs were donated.
FEBRUARY 2016 – Shop Support Team
The community event for February was hosted by the Shop Support Team. Their event supported The W House of Hagerstown Foundation, Inc. The mission of The W House is to provide treatment services to alcohol and drug-dependent women in the early stages of recovery. Their goal is to return women back to society and back to their families as sober, responsible, law-abiding, and productive citizens.
The team did a donation drive where employees could donate household items such as; blankets, sheets, shampoo, towels, silverware etc. In addition they did a 50/50 raffle and soup sale. In total, $700 was raised plus donated items, which was given to The W House.
JANUARY 2016 – Graphics Department
The community event for January was hosted by the Graphics Department. Their event was centered around English & More, a non-profit organization based in Washington County, MD. English & More provides free English language instruction to English Language Learners (ELLs), assistance preparing for the U.S. citizenship test, tutoring for students in grades K-12, and support for adults who want to obtain their GED.
In order to help raise money for their cause the graphics team created “Swear Jars” and placed them all around the plant. If you used any swear words you had to donate to the cause. They also did a 50/50 raffle, which was won by Valerie Kline and graciously donated back to the cause. In total we raised $297, which was donated directly to English & More.
